I’ve tried a few, some costly, and this is the best next thing to a paper check register as far as simplicity goes. Only wish it had a few more features like choosing the dollar amount format i.e. $$.$$. Dollars and cents auto-formatted so you could just type in figures and numbers and the program would automatically place the decimal point as dollars and cents. Like Excel can do with customizing how one wants to treat number entries. Also in the “check number” column, allow text to be entered, not only numbers. Sometimes under the check number on a paper register I write “xfer” for account transfers, and “DB" or “V” for bank debit card purchases where the check number is N/A. Other than that, I like the program.

Does exactly what it should. Nice to put the calculator away and not have to go and get register books from the bank.

I use this as a learning tool for my children. It is simple enough for them to use, while still being efficient for household expenses.

Waited till a reconciliation to rate this software. Simple enough. I’ll continue to use as it’s all you need to record household checking. One issue I encountered was, after about the third time to use I noticed that the information I had entered disappeared. Apparently auto save did not work this time. Had previously. Solution is to just select save prior to closing and no issues now. Working on iMac with OS X Sierra.

I use Chekchek daily. I have for several years. It’s fabulous. Ingenious. I looked at several other programs, and none was as simple and straightforward at this one. Just an electronic version of a paper checkbook ledger… No reconcile ability. I ended up deleting it and getting CheckBook.

I love this check register tool on my computer! It really helps me keep my finances in check. I previously used Quicken but Chekchek is really all I need to keep organized and I’m able to enter payments that are scheduled for a future date and checking items off as they come in so I can always keep track of my balance.

This is a great app if you are looking for a simple check register to use on your desktop.

Great app - does just what it says. Its really easy to use. I balanced my checkbook in under a minute, something that was always annoying and took a while with my paper register. Easy to locate and sort transactions, too. I really like it.

Its exactly what I was looking for, I just wanted to keep track of my puchases… nothing fancy. And I was happy for a minute. Please fix the rounding down issue. Its annoying, I want an accurate estimate of whats in my back account. A penny here and there adds up.

The app works as advertised. However, you can only set it up for one account. So, if you have a checking account and a savings accout or other multiple account, you can not add the additional accounts. Seems like that would have been an easy addition for the writer.

While this is easy to add/change. There are several impt things missing: Deposit & Withdrawal boxes are too close and it is very easy to hit the wrong one. There aren’t 2 columns for transactions (one Deposits and one for withdrawals). There is no place (at least I haven’t found one) to put your ending balance from your banking monthly statement so that when you check off an items that has been posted, it reconsiles to $0 so that you know you haven’t screwed up! Needs lots more work!

I absolutely love this app but it is missing one IMPORTANT feature: the ability to add more than one account. Otherwise this app is exactly what I need-just a simple way to track my expenses. I’m not looking for all the graphs and budgeting features that most apps include. If this app had the ability to track more than one account - it would be perfect for me. However, without this feature I thinks it not worth it because i’ll still have to buy another app to track my other account.

First— Can’t figure out how to enter the beginning balance. No separate columns for deposits and withdrawals. No running balance only the one for all at the bottom. So—can’t fairly review as I can’t even begin to use it! Should be a way of contacting someone for help

Clean, simple, well layout and easy inputs. Well Done. UPDATE: Did notice that the date tab is not putting dates in ascending /descending order. For me, the app is spliting the month in half and putting wrong date in middle.

I run a small business and use this app daily. It is awesome and I would reccomend it. Very user friendly.

This is a nice straightfoward app that makes balancing the checkbook easy. No bells and whistles, but other than a few enhancements/fixes (below) it works very nicely. Suggested enhancements/fixes: - Separate column (or different colors) for withdrawals & deposits - Recurring deposits/payments - same every month, autofills when the date is past (maybe flagged so they can be verified) - Fix: check numbers shouldn’t be treated as numbers (with 0,000 formating), allow alphabetic characters too - Fix: Tabbing out of amount field fills the check number field with last value, that shouldn’t happen.

This app is so easy to use & allows me to use it for numerous types of documents ! Not just check register but all types of payments made. The only drawback is it only allows for check #’s not “Electronic payments” /ACH withdraws "

Very basic but easy to use. Wish it had a couple more features like recurring entries.
